It was very hard to judge, because there are so many lovely pictures!
I write a small review for all of your, please don't feel defensive.
The review is instant of showing the points, because I think words are much better than a score.
But I can say there aren't big differences in the score! Sometimes just 4 points.
But It's a little shame, that in the end only seven people drawn their entries
I hope it will be more successful at the next time. I'm open for reviews!
Please contact sponsors for prices.
#01 - PHSC Silenced By The Night ridden by Lukas Neumann (Sweden SE)
Your shading and the details are amazing! The backgrounds are just awesome.
Sometimes your horse looks more like bay not black and it's really a shame how you lost the motivation of the background in your dressage entry, because yes, it's definitely visible. The stands are just flat and lost every details. It doesn't fit with the other parts of the image and you can see it at first view. You are very good with textures.
#07 - WDS Atlantis Arcaron ridden by Satina Baumgart (Germany DE)
It's absolutely amazing how your practice the perspective and composition of your pictures! Specially the X-Country. It feels like you're really there and it's very dynamic and energetic. It creats a cery nice and lively atmosphare. I like the colours you chose (e.g. the yellow and green grass). The anatomy is sometimes a bit wrong but already good, please continue to draw without references! Sometimes I missed some details in the background and the shading doesn't fit with your lines (e.g. the wall). I really enjoyed the stories, unfortunately they are very rare...
#21 - EAE The Abbot of Unreason ridden by Abigail Trenton (Scotland GB)
The expressions of your horses and riders are just awesome. I love the way how you create the concept of character and liveliness in your pictures. There are so much nice and lovely details in horse, rider and obstacles, but I missed them in the background of your x-Country entry and show jumping entry. Otherwise the details in your dressage entry are very impressive (e.g. the bricks and the fence). Unfortunately we had to take-off points for your shading of horse and rider, it's actually a very simple and flat shading and sometimes there is nearly no shading (e.g. horse in x-country entry). The atmosphare in your pictures is instantly amazing! Great use of light and colours.
#11 - BFS Stop the Conquest ridden by Tracy Money (Germany DE)
<da:thumb id="478043691"/><da:thumb id="478496237"/><da:thumb id="483499024"/><da:thumb id="484682845"/>
I really like the small details in your entries like the flowers at the obstacle in your x-country entry or the grass in your show jumping entry. Your chose very dynamic poses! Sometimes the horse/rider doesn't fit with the perspective of the picture. In your dressage entry the arena is too small and the perspective is more a topview than a sideview like the horse. The same in your show jumping entry. In the x-country entry the horse doesn't fit with the obstacle, because the front legs cross the obstacle, but the hind legs are between the flags. The shading of your horse and rider are very detailed, but in contrast the shading of the background is a bit flat and lost details.
#14 - RQS Phoenix ridden by Lynn Miller (Germany DE)
I love the way how you managed the weather! Specially the fog and the rain. I like the small details like the damp and slippery ground in the show jumping arena. It creates a very lively and dynamic atmosphare. Unfortunately you lost points in your shading. The shading doesn't fit with the lines and missed details, specially on the legs, mane and tail. It looks a bit dirty (sorry) because you chose black and white shadow on expressive colours, try to choose colours for the shading. Awesome that you wrote stories! It's very special on dA.
<da:thumb id="481660924"/><da:thumb id="482679134"/><da:thumb id="491896041"/>
You chose really amazing and dynamic poses. I like the texture of the x-country obstacle. The colours you used are very expressive, mabe a bit unnatural and flashy sometimes (e.g. the grass, really green). How you used the brush in the background of the x-country entry is amazing! It looks like a wild and thick bush. Unfortunately there are a lot of details missed. The shading is very simple and a bit like a mess, specially all the lines and stripes (e.g. the barn in the show jumping entry). The perspective is a bit bumpy, try to use straight lines for fences, roofs and walls.
There are a lot of details missed
There are no details in the background, there are no riders faces and in your dressage entry the rider is missing. It's a shame, you chose so great and dynamic poses, why have you not completely finished the picures? In the show jumping entry is even no shading. The shading in the other entries are simple without any details.
I like the colours you used and there are so much details on the Nessie obstacle. You should continue the details through the hole picture, not just in one point.

Retire HARPG/deviantArt
Hello folks,
you might have already noticed my long absence of deviantArt and especially harpg.
I had and still have to struggle with a lot of personal and educational issues for a while now, so I needed to focuse on other parts of my life. I didn't really feel good for a long time, but late February/March it really hit my health and I spend a lot of time physically sick and also lost a lot of strength. mentally speaking. after not knowing what's going on, visiting all different kinds of doctors, having surgery and now only taking drugs to smother the issues, because it's not really treatable. Also other commitments didn't pause so I had to
Retire HARPG/deviantArt (update)
ok, there might be a misunderstanding (maybe because of my drama-rama after this sad decision process).
I am not leaving devinantArt forever and disappear into the unknown universe like Janeway did, I will still be online, watch and follow your staff, answer comments and, most important, continue planning the World Equestrian Games (as of decision made yesterday xD) because this was a great and huge idea I want to see happen and not having to do other stuff on harpg already reduces my workload like A LOT. But it might delay a little. And also needing back-up and help on our team (note me if interested)

Eeee, thank you so much!
I have to admit to being a little disappointed that you think my shading was 'flat', although looking at it now I can see what you mean! XD
I agree that the backgrounds in some were pretty lacking - I think I just gave up with the showjumping one, lol, it was fighting me all the way!
But yeah, overall I'm very happy with my placing and I can't wait for the next show!
